The Wildlife Carving Club has changed it's name to River Bend Carving Club! Many of our members carve subjects ranging from fish to Cypress knees to Santa's to a variety of caricatures... some even pursue the "Art of Fire", Pyrography (wood burning). To better show the diversity of our artists, we felt the name had to show we were not restricted in our carvings. The new name doesn't make prospective members feel like they are imposing on a group that only carves wildlife (although at one time it was quite restrictive). The name "River Bend Carving Club" also shows the pride we have in our meeting place, River Bend Nature Center, Inc. This 80 acre nature preserve along the banks of the Root River is a beautiful place to visit and relax. They offer canoes, kayaks, skiing, nature trails and a lots of other fun things to participate in. Stop in to see what they offer and you may see some our club's handiwork as we support them as volunteers to keep the place in the condition the public wants to see.
