The Wildlife Carving Club meets at 6:00 pm on the third Thursday of each month at the River Bend Nature Center, 3600 North Old Green Bay Road, Racine, WI.. Meetings consist of an hour of carving, business meeting, roll call and (usually) a demonstration relative to some part of the art of woodcarving. Members frequently bring in projects they have recently completed and raffles of carving related items are often offered as well. Refreshments are available during the demonstration.

The Library opens shortly before the meeting and closes at the end. Members can take out several books, videos or carving aids and keep them for a "reasonable" period of time. The membership is very eager to assist other carvers and carving questions are always welcome!

A club "picnic" is held each summer, usually in August, and a Christmas Party is held in December. Each member brings a "dish to pass" and the club furnishes the meat and non-alcoholic beverages.

The club’s primary money maker is the Annual Raffle where donations from the members are raffled. Some years the main prize has been done by having various members each do some part of the carving & painting.

The club has held an "Annual Show and Competition" in the past and it is hoped it will be resurrected in the near future. Member participation will decide this. Let us know if you want to be notified of the date. These shows will be written up in "Chip-Chat's" if you want to look them up.

Annual dues of $20.00 per year are due in January.

Please write or e-mail us if you are interested in becoming a member.
